Ayodhya ram mandir
At the location of Ram Janmabhoomi in Ayodhya, which the
Ramayana claims is the birthplace of Lord Shri Rama, a Hindu incarnation of
Lord Vishnu, a Hindu temple called Ram Mandir is now under construction. Shri
Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra is supervising the temple's construction. The
temple's construction got underway on August 5, 2020, when Indian Prime
Minister Shri Narendra Modi conducted the Bhumi Pujan ceremony.
History:
Sri Rama is a popularly revered Hindu monarch. Rama was born
in Ayodhya, so the ancient Indian epic Ramayana says. It is referred to as Ram
Janmabhoomi, or the birthplace of Rama. On Ram Janmabhoomi, the Mughals
constructed the Babri Masjid, a mosque, in the fifteenth century. Hindus think
that a Hindu temple was demolished before the mosque was constructed. Only in
the 1850s did the argument get violent.
Building Construction:
In March 2020, the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth
Kshetra Trust began the first phase of the Ram temple's construction. [13][14]
However, building was momentarily halted due to the 19 Sino-India skirmishes
that followed India's COVID-19 pandemic lockdown. [15][16][17] The leveling and
excavation of the building site revealed a Shivalinga, pillars, and damaged
statues. The Lord Rama idol was temporarily shifted on March 18, 25 in front of
Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath.
Variable Function:
Following the foundation-laying ceremony
on August 5, the temple building officially got underway. The foundation stone
laying event, in which Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi placed a 40 kg
silver block as the cornerstone, took place one day before the three-day Vedic
rites. [2] A Ramaraman Puja was held on August 4 and all the principal deities
were invited. [26]
On the occasion of the
Triveni Sangam rivers, holy water, clay, and bhumi-pujas from numerous
religious locations around India were gathered. Ganga, Indus, Yamuna, Saraswati at Prayagraj, Talakaveri on Kaveri River, Kamakhya Temple in
Assam and many others. [27] Soil was also sent from various Hindu temples, gurudwaras and Jain temples across the country to bless the upcoming
temple. Many of these were Sharda Peeths located in Pakistan. The soil was also referred to as the four pilgrimage
places of Char Dham. Temples in the United States, Canada, and the Caribbean
islands organized a virtual service to celebrate the occasion. An image of Lord Rama was also planned to be displayed at Times Square. All the 34 temples within a 35 km radius of Hanumangarhi
were also asked to join the festival by lighting diyas. Muslim devotees in Ayodhya who consider Lord Ram as their
ancestor also look forward to bhumi-puja. Spiritual leaders of all faiths were invited to the
occasion.
Inauguration:
On August 5, Prime Minister Narendra Modi went to the Hanuman
Garhi temple to seek permission for Hanuman. [38] This was followed by the ground breaking and foundation
stone laying of the Ram temple. Yogi Adityanath, Mohan Bhagwat, Nritya Gopal Das and Narendra Modi delivered
speeches. Modi began his speech with Jai Siya Ram and he urged the people
present to chant Jai Siya Ram. [39 ] He said, "The invocation of Jai Siya Ram is
echoing not only in the city of Lord Ram but across the world today" and
"Ram Mandir will become the modern symbol of our traditions". [40] Narendra Modi also held in high regards those who
"sacrificed for the Ram temple".
